Who you are agreeing with

Bonsai is provided by DuskDelve (contact: ). By playing you agree to these terms and to how we handle data, described in the privacy notice. A child may play with a parent's or guardian's agreement; child mode is there for them.

A beta

The game is still being made. Features, balance and the look of things will change, and it may sometimes be unavailable. We work hard not to lose anyone's garden, but during the beta we can't promise that progress will always be kept: if a reset is ever needed, we will say so in the game first wherever we can.

No purchases during the beta

Nothing can be bought during the beta. Petals and Jade are earned in play, have no money value, can't be exchanged for money and stay with your garden.

Playing fair

Please don't cheat or abuse the game: no modified clients or automated accounts, no making extra accounts to vote in exhibitions or to send yourself gifts, and no attempts to break or overload the service. We may remove exhibition entries, votes or rewards that come from abuse, and suspend or close accounts that abuse the game or other players.

What you share

Trees you enter in the exhibition or share at a link stay yours. You let us show them inside the game, on their share pages and in the exhibition's history, for as long as they are shared. Names that other players see are chosen from a fixed list, never typed.

The game itself

The game, its art, sounds and code belong to DuskDelve. You may play it, take photos of your trees and share them for personal, non-commercial use.

Responsibility

The beta is provided as it is, without guarantees that it will be available, free of errors or keep every garden. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using it. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law gives you and that can't be limited, such as your rights as a consumer.

Ending

You can stop playing and delete your data at any time (Parent dashboard → Delete everything). We may end the beta; if we do, we will tell players in the game beforehand.

Changes

We may update these terms as the game grows. If a change matters, the game will tell you before it applies. The current version is always at /terms.html.
